What to Expect
We can’t wait to welcome you to Alinea Orthodontics! Upon arrival, please check in with our friendly receptionist. Dr. Jose Enrique Ortiz will then perform a comprehensive orthodontic examination and discuss the treatment plan with you and your family.
Purpose of the Initial Examination
During your first visit, our goal is to answer the following questions:
- Is there an orthodontic issue present?
- When is the ideal time to start treatment?
- What type of treatment is recommended?
- How long will the treatment take?
- What will the treatment cost?
Next Steps
If orthodontic treatment is necessary immediately, we will schedule an appointment for Diagnostic Records. Sometimes, if time permits, these records can be taken during your first visit.
Understanding Diagnostic Records
Diagnostic records include:
- Study models of your teeth.
- Panoramic and cephalogram radiographs, along with tracings.
- A thorough review by Dr. Ortiz to determine the best treatment course.
Treatment Cost
Treatment costs vary depending on the severity of the orthodontic issue. During your initial exam, our treatment coordinator will discuss fees and payment options if treatment is needed. We offer a range of payment plans to suit your budget and accept most insurance plans to make orthodontic care affordable for you.
Your Investment Includes
Your investment covers:
- Orthodontic records: x-rays, study models, and a personalized growth study workup to set your treatment objectives.
- Active treatment fee: includes early treatment options and comprehensive treatment with braces or Invisalign, covering all appliances, office visits, and procedures. Appliances are designed to last through the treatment period if instructions are followed. Additional fees may apply for replacements due to loss, breakage, malpractice, or failure to avoid damaging foods.
- One set of final retainers: provided upon completion of comprehensive (Phase II) treatment. Additional retainers are available for a replacement fee if lost or broken.
What Your Investment Does Not Include
- Services performed by other dental offices outside our orthodontic practice.
- Additional fees may be incurred if an accident or injury during treatment results in TMJ complications, additional orthodontics, or orthognathic surgery.
Assignment of Benefits
We accept the assignment of benefits for most insurance plans, which helps lower the family’s out-of-pocket expenses. If your plan does not allow us to accept the assignment of benefits, we will still file claims so that you can be reimbursed directly. If there are changes to your policy before full payment of the insurance benefit, please contact our office immediately to adjust your contract.
Office Hours
We are committed to seeing you on time for your appointment. Each appointment is scheduled to allow enough time for the necessary procedure, provide information about the treatment, and answer any questions you may have. To help us stay on schedule, we kindly ask that you arrive on time to avoid any delays. Your punctuality and cooperation are greatly appreciated by our staff and other patients.
